"Ideas Worth Spreading"
It says above that TED stands for Technology, Entertainment and Design, but it is so much more. I was drawn to TED by a news story about
neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor.
In 1996, Ms. Taylor had a massive stroke, during which she remained aware enough to record the experience. She was 37 years old. It took
eight years for her to recover, and afterwards she spoke at a TED conference. It is an amazing and moving
speech.
After listening to this courageous woman, I began to explore the other speakers on TED's site. I was awed, gained new insights, cried and
laughed for at least three hours just browsing and listening to all of the marvelous people sharing their talents, knowledge and humor. If
you are always open to hearing another's views, never want to stop learning, admire the talents and wisdom of others, love to think - this is
for you!
I'll list a few of my favorites, but I urge you to explore many of the other extraordinary videos on TED.
